David Ellis imageDavid is a strategically focused and dynamic finance professional with broad international commercial experience; including expertise in corporate finance, capital-raising and investor relations, with a particular focus on building bridges between emerging and developed markets.

Between 2007 and 2012, David built international investor programmes for Sub-Saharan Africa banks - firstly as head of Investor Relations ("IR") at United Bank for Africa and latterly at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated.

In 2004, David moved to London and co-founded a specialist investor communications agency to support client's IR programs - working with investment banks to guide a company through the IPO process, establish an investor relations ("IR") function and provide specialist IR support. The client base covered leading investment banks and companies throughout Europe, Turkey and Asia, such as 3 Italia, BÎM, Coca Cola Içecek, Efes Breweries, Iberdrola, Parquesol, Saras, Shui On Land & Vakif Bank.

Between 2000 and 2003, David was based in Hong Kong with Société Générale. He acted on a wide range of M&A, equity capital market & private equity transactions across Asia (ex-Japan). Sector experience included pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, software, consumer products, energy & chemicals.

David commenced his corporate finance career with SG Hambros in Melbourne in 1998. He acted on a wide range of advisory, M&A and fund-raising transactions. Sector experience included media, logistics, food & beverage, agriculture, mining, manufacturing and retailing.

David qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in Melbourne, where he worked on a number of clients in the financial services and construction industries. He graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and is a Sloan Fellow (with Distinction) of London Business School.
